Mountain Fork River Fishing

Mountain Fork River is an amazing year-round trout fishing destination where you’ll find the best whitewater stream in all of Oklahoma. Though it’s located in an area not known for its fly fishing, the river’s cool, constantly flowing waters provide the perfect habitat for a thriving population of rainbow and brown trout. The river is home to many other fish as well, including largemouth bass, spotted bass, sunfish, and chain pickerel. And if you’re looking for trophy-sized fish, this is the place to find them. In fact, the Lower Mountain Fork section of the river is where the state-record, 17.4 pound brown trout was caught. It’s not unusual to find rainbow and brown trout throughout the river that are more than 20 inches long.
